B&W ASW10 CM Active Subwoofer

B&W’s CM Series of loudspeakers has been honed from the technologies developed for their reference -standard 800 series of loudspeakers. The CM range has recently undergone a major revamp with the addition of several new models to the range. Like all B&W’s current range of HiFi loudspeakers, the use of their Kevlar drive units, coupled to the Nautilus derived tweeter and the addition of paper pulp/Kevlar fibre bass drivers has extended the performance range of this stylish series of loudspeakers. The CM range of loudspeakers sits between their award winning 600 series (B&W 685, European Loudspeaker of the Year 2008) and the reference -standard 800 series.
Unlike the 600 series, the CM range is clad in real wood veneers, but the detailed difference are more than skin deep, longer voice coils and bigger magnets give greater power handling with less distortion. More solid bracing results in a deader cabinet and the selection of better sounding crossover components result in a more sophisticated sound.
The current range is made up of the CM1 and CM5 stand-mount /bookshelf loudspeakers, the CM7 and CM9 floor-standers, the two centre speakers, the CM Centre, the CM Centre 2 and bringing up the bottom end the ASW 10 CM active subwoofer. The range is available in 3 finishes, Rosenut, Wenge and Black Gloss.
