The kW250S was a World First product - a proper High Performance, High End all-in-one System. Offering a high performance moving magnet and moving coil phono stage, FM and DAB tuners, iPOD input, Digital Input, 24 BIT-192K upsampling DAC, CD player, Valve pre-amp and a pair of 250 watt monobloc power amplifiers in a single unit. In performance terms the kW250S is a better combination than the A5CD player, A5 pre-amp, A5-power amp and the A5 tuner. As an amplifier its performance is very close (but not quite)to that of the exalted kW550 intergrated amplifier. The kW250S's CD player is an improvement on the A5 CD player from which a great deal of its design is taken, employing some of the improvements found in the kW25 CD replay system. The power amplifier stage is a true monobloc design, using the same circuit configeration as the kW550 intergrated, featuring independant transformers for each channel. If you purchased the individual A5 products that make up the heart of the kW250S it would set you back approximately £7500 - you can now have it all for £4999
